A subsidiary of American-owned manufacturer of automotive parts wishes to appoint an enthusiastic Purchasing Manager. The corporation operates in more than 20 countries with innovative technology, quality management standards, and corporate social responsibilities.

Reporting to the expatriate Managing Director, the Purchasing Manager will be based in the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, Rayong. He/ she will:

• Conduct sourcing strategy reviews and develop new sourcing strategy to support the local and regional manufacturing and financial objectives
• Lead the plant sourcing team to evaluate potential new suppliers/ suppliers as well as to monitor performance of current suppliers/ contractors of both production and non-production items
• Lead the plant purchasing team in developing early sourcing plan
• Establish purchasing and warehouse work procedures, ensuring conformance of practices of staff
• Support current model production, new launches, as well as engineering changes
• Lead material-cost-reduction programs including VA/VE, price negotiation
• Support the plant in the development of make-and-buy analysis

Qualifications and skills required :

• Thai national, age above 30 years
• Degree in Technology or an Engineering field
• Minimum 5 years experience within the automotive industry; at least 3 years at a supervisory level
• Having an established network with commodity suppliers and knowledge in inventory management
• Background in implementing product standard(s) as well as quality management standard(s)
• Strong organizing, communications, and negotiating skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English
