A British company providing engineering design and project management services for the oil and gas, chemical and power generation industries wishes to appoint an experienced Lead Instrument Engineer. The corporation employs over 1,250 people working in 14 offices worldwide.
Based in the Bangkok Office, the Lead Instrument Engineer will:
- Prepare detailed design of instrument and control systems for on-shore oil and gas and water projects
- Prepare instrumentation design basis and control philosophy
- Identify sizing and specifications of equipment, including filed instrumentation, metering system, PLC, RTU, SCADA, DCS, telecommunications, fire detection, and suppression system
- Industry standard communication protocols
- Identify hazardous area and perform installation techniques
- Prepare and conduct field testing procedures
- Prepare man-hour estimates, summaries and progress reports
Qualifications and skills required:
- Thai national, age 30 years up
- Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering with engineering license class II
- Minimum 10 years instrument engineering experience within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries; minimum 5 years experience in a design role
- Overseas work experience would be an advantage, particularly a Middle Eastern country
- Experience in supervising a small project team of engineers and designers
- Knowledge of international codes, quality and SHE standards
- Knowledge in pipeline and related facility design and construction would be an advantage
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Result-oriented with organizing, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Good command of both spoken and written English
