A British company providing engineering design and project management services for the oil and gas, chemical and power generation industries wishes to appoint an experienced Lead Civil Engineer. The corporation employs over 1,250 people working in 14 offices worldwide.

Based in the Bangkok Office, the Lead Civil Engineer will:

• Prepare design of civil and structural facilities including:
• site fill and grading, site roads, culverts and drainage
• structural steelwork for pipe racks, access platforms
• footings and supports for piping and mechanical equipment, including piling and foundation design
• reinforced concrete tanks and chambers
• utility buildings and shelters
• Prepare civil and structural design basis
• Review and interpret reports of soil investigation and topographical survey
• Prepare technical specifications, calculate and select materials
• Prepare man-hour estimates, summaries and progress reports

Qualifications and skills required:

• Thai national, age 30 years up
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with engineering license class II
• Minimum 10 years in civil engineering experience within on-shore oil and gas or petrochemical industries; minimum 5 years experience in a design role
• Experience in supervising a small project team of engineers and designers as well as civil sub-contractors
• Knowledge of local and international codes as well as quality management and SHE standards
• Knowledge of pipeline and related facility design and construction would be an advantage
• Result-oriented with organizing, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Overseas work experience would be an advantage
• Good command of both spoken and written English
