Purchasing Manager

An international company provides turnkey operations as a single source for modifying of vehicles for export to clients in Asia, Europe and Africa. The company has its own engineering team to develop designs with a complete conversion facility in Chonburi.

The company is looking for a Purchasing Manager to manage commodities, materials, and/or supplies to support their modification operations, aftermarket parts sales and trading business of the group. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Manager will:

Coordinate with Design and Engineering Manager and Plant Manager on parts specification, inventory to plan and purchase of components in support of the new and existing projects
Implement, follow-up, measurement, refinement and improvement of all tasks within a given project
Liaise with the purchasing team and other departments to assure successful launch on time
Work with project managers to ensure all design, quality, production, financial and milestone timing needs are met
Plan, lead and conduct timely team meetings and project status reviews for purchasing components
Support the sales and project teams in preparing business proposals, project launches
Source qualified suppliers, develop, evaluate, and determine measures to ensure required performance of suppliers

Qualifications and skills required:

Thai national
Degree in Engineering, Science or Business Administration
Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing operations of a multinational manufacturing company – project management experience is a plus
Thorough understanding of product standards, quality management standard, and productivity improvement tools (APQP)
Comfortable to work in a cross-functional management
Good organizing, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Able to communicate effectively in English with overseas customers
